Table Quiz, June 23rd
5th and 6th classes had their final table quiz of the school year. It was organised by Mr. Power and was his last quiz before his retirement. A final round of questions was asked in Mr. Power's honour and the pupils then sang 'Amazing Grace'. Photos of 6th class will be uploaded after their graduation.

Junior Infant Teddy Bears' Picnic, June 20th
Ms. Morley's 5th class organised a Teddy Bears' Picnic for Junior Infants. They made masks, sandwiches and chocolate teddies. Some dressed up as bears and they finished by acting out the 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' story.

5th+6th Classes - Corkagh Park, 19th June
A lovely, hot day in Corkagh Park! Thanks to Liam, Colette and Pamela for the food and help. Thanks also to Mr. Carolan, Mrs. Breen and Mr. Lawlor who supervised.
Junior Achievement - Mr. O'Malley's 3rd class
Mr. O'Malley's class learned all about cities and how they are planned. Cities have different zones for different purposes. They had great fun with Lorna!
Find Your Inspiration programme
5th class pupils followed the Find Your Inspiration programme in 2017. This programme was piloted with our school and other local schools and aims to inform pupils about skills, talents, secondary school subject choices and possible college courses and careers. The closing ceremony was held in Maynooth University. Staff there worked with South Dublin, Jigsaw and HSCL teachers in delivering this excellent programme. Clonburris pupils visited the science laboratory and planetarium, ate in the canteen and listened to former pupil, Leslieanne Gore talk about achieving their dreams. Five of our pupils spoke in front of an audience of over 300!
First Communion, May 27th
Congratulations to all the boys and girls in 2nd class who received the Sacrament of the Eucharist on Saturday 27th May. Thanks to Fr. Damian, Fr. Ó Cuiv, all the staff who helped with preparations for the day, the choir, altar servers and local community. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Galvin, Mr. Toomey and Ms. Dempsey who have worked very hard with the classes during the year!
BizWorld with 5th Class, May 2017
BizWorld Ireland partners with schools throughout the country to deliver tailored enterprise workshops for 10- to 13-year-olds. The skills children develop in BizWorld Ireland workshops are the most sought-after skills in the workforce today: creativity, collaboration, communication, teamwork, negotiation. In May 2017 our 5th classes were given the opportunity to participate in the workshops delivered by Avril Lambert of Bank of Ireland. On Day Two the Dragons visited and pupils pitched their ideas. Pupils were also given the chance to discuss their ideas with 3rd/4th classes and receive feedback from them.

5th class visit Maynooth University
In January 2017 Mr. Shannon's and Ms. Morley's 5th classes visited Maynooth University with a number of other Clondalkin primary schools. The opening ceremony of 'Find your Inspiration' which has been put together by South Dublin and Maynooth took place. The pupils listened to a number of guest speakers and Ms. Morley's class sang in front of an audience of 300+! The lessons will take place in school and aim to inform our pupils about careers and further education.

Community Garda Visit, October 2016
A member of our local Garda Síochána visited classes on October 25th, 2016. He talked about his work, his uniform and the equipment he uses. He also spoke about safety at Hallowe'en.
