Cross Country Finals, Corkagh Park, May 12th
A brilliant day in Corkagh Park! South Dublin County Council organised the races in which over 2,800 competitors took part. 36 pupils from Clonburris competed in the races. Dublin Bus collected the pupils from 3rd-6th. We had boys and girls competing in the heats and champions' races and some very exciting finishes! Thanks very much to Ms. Brett, Ms. Morley and Mr. Masterson for coaching the boys and girls after school. Thanks also to Mrs. Hanley, Mrs. Bowen, Mrs. Dunne and Mr. Johnson for helping with supervision. We also had lots of extra support from parents and grandparents at the event!

The Sam Maguire returns to Clonburris!
On Thursday 8th October, 2015, Jim Gavin and the Sam Maguire returned once again to Clonburris. Jim was accompanied by player James McCarthy, past pupil Seamus McCormack, and Bernard Dunne. Jim's parents also attended. They entered the hall to huge applause. Jim spoke about his time in Clonburris as a pupil and about working with Mr. Roebuck who is part of the Dublin backroom team. He encouraged everyone to "Work hard" to achieve their goals in life. All the children, led by Ms. Hilliard sang songs composed for the occasion before Jim Gavin visited classes throughout the school.

Clonburris pupils and staff gathered to wish Jim Gavin, Frank Roebuck and all the Dublin team the best of luck in the All-Ireland Final. Mr. Toomey prepared a quiz based on Dublin GAA and Ms. Hilliard led the singing! The hall looked great with the Dublin colours covering every available space.
Congratulations to Jim Gavin, Dublin Senior Football manager, Mr. Roebuck and all the winning team!
